Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Open-Ended learning model on students' critical thinking skills in grade V elementary school. The research method used in this study is to use an experimental model (Quasi Experimental Design), which is a form of experimental design that has a control group and an experimental group. The research subjects were fifth grade students totaling 52 students. Data were collected through tests. Data analysis used statistical tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. Tests conducted through SPSS to determine central tendency (mean, mode, median and standard deviation) and frequency tables. The results showed that the posttest results of critical thinking skills of the experimental class obtained a maximum value of 100 and a minimum of 71.88. Meanwhile, the control class obtained a maximum value of 96.88 and a minimum of 59.38. Then in the experimental class the average value was 86.66, the median obtained 90.63 and the mode was 84.38. While in the control class the average score was 75.96, the median was 81.25 and the mode was 75.00. The results of the calculation of the t-test of two uncorrelated samples and a significant level of 5% obtained a value of = 0, 000. This means that the value of  = 0, 000 < = 0, 05, so that 0 rejects and 1 is accepted.

Abstrak: Adapun tujuan di dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Open-Ended terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas V sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan model eksperimen (Quasi Experimental Design) yaitu bentuk desain eksperimen yang mempunyai kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 52 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Uji yang dilakukan melalui SPSS untuk mengetahui tendensi sentral (mean, modus, median dan standars deviasi) serta tabel frekuensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil posttest kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen didapatkan nilai maksimum 100 dan minimum sebesar 71.88. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol didapatkan nilai maksimum 96.88 dan minimum sebesar 59.38. Kemudian pada kelas eksperimen rata-rata nilai sebesar 86.66, median memperoleh 90.63 dan modus sebesar 84.38. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol rata-rata nilai 75.96, median sebesar 81.25 dan modus sebesar 75.00. Hasil perhitungan uji-t dua sampel yang tidak berkorelasi dan taraf signifikan 5% diperoleh nilai 0, 000. Artinya nilai = 0, 000 <  = 0, 05, sehingga H0 tolak dan H1 diterima.
